- Hospital Dedication
- Women’s Auxiliary Formed, first meeting April 10

- JMH featured in the Monthly Modern Hospital
- First staff — 71 employees and 14 medical doctors
- 14 RNs, 2 LPNs, 1 surgical tech, 1 registered dietician, 1 registered nurse anesthetist, 3 registered laboratory & x-ray technicians, 21 attendants, 4 orderlies, 6 office workers, 11 dietary workers, 4 housekeepers, and 3 maintenance workers

- Need for additional beds identified.
- Construction cost $900,000, additional pledge drive for $450,000

- Plans for $5 million expansion begins

- Medical Air Rescue Corps begins at JMH

- Emergency Care offers 24 hour/7 days a week services
- Several services added — Nuclear Medicine, One Day Surgery, Pediatric Wing, and Physical Therapy

- New expanded Cardiovascular Services

- Phase I construction of the 4th and 5th floors begin
- Escort services added
- Courtyard constructed and open

- Phase II construction of the new ER, x-ray department addition, expansion of dietary & dining room, and new physical therapy department
