Why are gifts to the Foundation needed?
The challenges of reduced state, federal, and institutional support along with increased operational expenses means that philanthropic support is critical to ensuring the strength of the hospital's mission to provide excellent health care and community service.
As the county's only full-service hospital and one of the area's leading employers, JMH is a valuable community resource. Donations to JMH Foundation are an investment in the overall health of our community and a commitment to the future.
How do donors benefit?
The primary benefit for donors is having superior-quality healthcare services available in the community, through technological advancements, improved facilities, and the best-qualified staff available.
Because Jefferson Memorial Hospital is a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit institution, donations to the foundation are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
Donations in the form of bequests allow the privilege of determining the final distribution of assets and designating a portion to support a charitable cause, rather than allowing the judicial system to choose a beneficiary.
Who supports the Foundation?
Jefferson Memorial Hospital Foundation is supported primarily by local residents and businesses, organizations, and hospital employees who give back to the not-for-profit hospital for all it does for its community.
Jefferson Memorial Hospital Foundation welcomes one-time, annual, and deferred gifts of cash and stocks. Other options include planned gifts through bequests, trusts, insurance, and other programs.
