Circle of Friends

One of the initiatives of the Jefferson Memorial Hospital Foundation is to expand access to the community at large. Area residents have the opportunity to become part of the JMH Foundation's "Circle of Friends" through donations to the not-for-profit hospital's Foundation.

The term "Circle of Friends" comes from a circle's symbolism of unending care and compassion, which is exactly what the JMH Foundation stands for.

There are varying levels of commitment within the "Circle of Friends." With each level of membership comes a greater level of recognition for individuals or businesses that contribute. The following chart explains the different levels of membership and the different benefits that come with each membership level.

Annual Donations Benefits of Membership
$25 to $100 Friend Newsletter, Information, Identification
$100 to $250 Partner Plus premium item, recognition at all annual events
$250 to $500 Sponsor Plus CEO lunch invitation, signage at all annual events
$500 to $1,000 Founder Plus admission to Founder's Banquet, expanded signage
$1,000 to $5,000 Benefactor Plus Partnership Tree recognition
$5,000 and up Philanthropist Plus naming opportunities for hospital facilities

Anyone donating in the Partner level or beyond is eligible to receive a JMH Foundation premium item. Contributions to the Foundation are cumulative as members participate in different Foundation activities or make donations to Foundation programs.

A main component of the "Circle of Friends" donor program is the opportunity to earn acknowledgment on the Foundation's Partnership Tree. The Partnership Tree is on display in the newly remodeled main entrance of Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Once a donor has reached the Benefactor Level for contributing $1,000 to the JMH Foundation either through a single donation or series of donations, then that individual or business will earn a permanent leaf on the Partnership Tree.

As a 501 (c) 3 corporation since 1958, donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible. According to IRS regulations, the amount of the deduction is reduced by the value of some of the premium items received. Members may elect to forego the premium item to deduct the full amount of the contribution.
