Prime Time

midlife woman

How can you find energy, strength, and a renewal in midlife? Good health and a good relationship with your health provider is the key.

It's during these years you begin to feel fully alive and satisfied with your life. Many of your goals have been reached. However, you may also have new hurdles to cross.

With the extended life expectancy, mid-life takes on even greater importance in terms of physical and emotional health. Prime Time places an emphasis on exercise, diagnostic services, and preventive health care. JMH offers health screenings at many of our events. Assessments are important in determining your risk of stroke, cholesterol, blood pressure, and chronic fatigue. Because of the increased risk women face with cardiovascular disease, it is a good idea to assess your cardiac fitness. If you do find you are at risk, or have already been treated for heart disease, the comprehensive Guardian Program, offered through JMH Rehab Center, can provide you with exercise and other resources.

Our outpatient dietitian offers a comprehensive approach to diabetes treatment, counseling, and classes for coping with this disease and its complications. What better time to kick the habit if you are a smoker? We can help with an eight-week intensive stop smoking program. This program offers the guidance and support you need to quit smoking and gain renewed energy and health.

Besides health assessments and screenings, you should include exercise and healthy eating during these prime years. Whatever your health needs in finding energy, strength, and renewal in midlife, we're committed to helping you be the best you can be.
